Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components An upgrade item is an item that can make certain Pokemon evolve. The upgrade is obtained by spinning a photo disc. It's often given as a prize during Pokemon GO events. Upgrades can be applied to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to boost their level. The upgrade costs Flightstones and crests, depending on the item type. Upgrade components Upgrade components can be inserted into trinkets, armors, weapons and other tools for gathering in order to increase attributes or other bonuses while using the equipment. Upgrade components are only available on equipment that has an upgrade slot. The majority of upgrade components require that the item to be upgraded is above a certain level. Some upgrade components also have special visual effects when they are added to an item. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, purchased from karma merchants or traded with other players on the Trading Post, taken from equipment, or obtained as rewards in games. A variety of upgrade components are available, each providing various bonuses. Universal upgrades, which include gems and inscriptions, can be used with any kind of equipment; they provide smaller bonuses than other types of upgrade components. Infusions are able to be used on non-amulet or legendary ascended items, and enrichments are able to be used on back equipment that is ascended. Most upgrade components can be replaced if they are inserted into an item, but doing so will destroy the previous upgrade. Exceptions are glyphs (which can only be used in gathering tools) and enchantments, which are able to be removed and then reinserted. Insignias Enchantments, insignias, and prefix/suffix upgrades will appear in the hover display of the item, while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. the word Radiant Insignia could change the name into Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrade components added to an item will be visible in the tooltip of the item. Glyphs Glyphs are special characters that can be added into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements, like ligatures and fractions, ornaments, swashes registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs panel allows you to view and insert these special characters along with regular glyphs like em dashes and en dashes registered trademark symbols and glyphs that don't appear in other fonts (such as dingbats). Each Glyph provides a primary stat boost for the character. It also has up to four Secondary Stats that affect the glyph's radius on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage boost that is multiplied by other bonuses, except for Speed Glyphs that directly increase the hero’s speed. Selecting the Glyphs and then clicking “enchant” will activate them. This will open a window that shows the Glyphs that are available to you. You are only able to apply the appropriate Glyph to the selected item. Each weapon or jewelry piece has a different collection of Glyphs. Glyphs can be improved through the use of Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult the dungeon, the greater the amount of Glyph experience that you will earn. Once a Glyph has reached the level 15 it can be upgraded using the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board grows by one node for every 15 levels at which a Glyph is upgraded. When a Glyph is at the desired level you can activate it. Select it and click the “enchant button”. The resulting glyph will offer its stated bonus and will also boost the other nodes within its radius on the Paragon Board. Glyphs should go in areas that can benefit your build the most. This is why you should prioritize Magic Glyphs as soon as possible. Rare glyphs may also offer double bonus if certain conditions can be met. Click the cycle widget to alter the perspective of the Glyphs Panel. Each of these views shows the Glyphs in a different font. You can narrow down the list of glyphs by selecting an option beneath “Entire Font”. For instance, punctuation only shows punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols limits the options to mathematical symbols. Rerolling Rerolling is a method in which you create a brand new account to give yourself more chances to access a character or weapon that you are interested in. This can be done in order to level up faster, or to gain more valuable loot like the purchase of a new weapon for your character. Many players will reroll until they have the characters that they like regardless of their strength. It could be that they like the style or personality of the character. When you reroll, you have to ensure that the changes you are making are clean. This means that you must verify locally that the patch passes the pre-commit checks, and you should also conduct a core development test. You should also upload the patch to an issue with plain diff (see What's the deal with an interdiff? ). Rerolls could take days or weeks to complete, based on your luck. To speed up the process avoid the enemy camps which are not mandatory during this time. Additionally, you should avoid re-doing any quests that can be completed later in the game. This will save you time and energy. When you reroll, it is essential to be aware the upgrade system. There are many ways to improve your character's appearance and strength. Upgrades, rerolling characters or upgrading weapons are all options. In addition, it's important to know the limitations of the upgrade system. Rerolling isn't a mandatory element of the game but it can be helpful to increase the chances of winning an item or character. It can be helpful when you're trying to find the most effective character in the game or if you're wanting to try out different play styles and builds. Sets A set is a group of objects that share common attributes (like the number of eggs in a dozen or the members of the class). Sets can be used to perform operations like union, intersection and difference. Upgrades make a set item better than it was before. For armor and weapons this means that it gets an increased base defense value as well as an lower strength requirement, and a lower amount of requirement. Upgrades can bring items that are popular from single sets to parity with those in higher-end sets. For example, upgrading Guillaume's Face Helm to Elite Spired Helm can increase the defense from 217 to 321 while reducing the strength requirement and level requirement to a lower range. However it's important to keep in mind that not all set items are candidates for upgradation. Certain sets, such as the FB Sorc Whistan's shield or Naj's puzzler staff, are already Exceptional in their own rights and don't require any upgrades.
